treatment of eating disorders and body image issues
gender identity
anxiety
depression
sexual orientation
relationships (romantic partners, family, friendships)
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Licensed Psychologist in Wisconsin (2010)
Ph.D. in Psychology (Counseling) - The University of Akron (2007)
Completion of an APA-accredited Doctoral Internship at Iowa State University (2006)
B.A. in Psychology from Muskingum University (2000)
My approach:
I utilize a humanistic, client-centered approach and choose my interventions collaboratively with each client. This eclectic orientation means we may be using mindfulness/meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and emotion-focused techniques. With your written consent, I also work collaboratively with other medical and mental health providers to provide the best care for you.
All are welcome here. When you meet with me, you will notice me listening attentively and empathically to both what you say and what you don’t say. Allowing you to tell your story and ask for what you need are important values in my practice. I provide a warm and compassionate atmosphere that encourages honesty and vulnerability. I am an LGBTQ+ welcoming, body positive, sex positive, and inclusive psychologist. I want to empower you to have the courage to explore your beliefs, make changes, and learn more about yourself. My pronouns are she/her.
